Abstract
Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore the mental health-related experiences and attitudes toward mental illness of occupational therapy students.

Methods: An online survey was conducted with 114 occupational therapy students. General characteristics and experiences related to mental health were investigated, and attitudes toward mental illness were investigated through the Attitudes to Severe Mental Illness (ASMI) scale. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics.

Results: Occupational therapy students experienced the most mental health-related education on campus, and practice showed a low frequency. Their attitude toward mental illness was positive. However, stereotype about medication was large, and low optimism was shown in the question that people with mental illness don¡¯t differ from other people.

Conclusion: It was confirmed that occupational therapy students experienced mental health through the curriculum and had a high positive attitude toward mental illness. In order to foster more competent mental health experts, education related to factors that affect client management, such as medication, and opportunities to increase understanding of people with mental illness are necessary.
